To capitalize on the booming mobile industry, all the brands are compelled to come up with good phones and that too at affordable cost. To take on the might of the leading brands, the Chinese manufacturers are leaving no stone unturned to outdo each other by launching powerful smartphones in low to mid-range budget. The latest launch are the OnePlus X and Huawei Honor 6 which have outstanding configuration and aesthetic design to woo the consumers. We have reviewed both the phones and bring the comparison between the two to help you pick the better one.
Display and Design
The OnePlus X arrives with a 5.0-inch AMOLED full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla glass screen protection which resists scratches and user’s marks. The smartphone sports a utilitarian design and metal frame body. The device measures 6.9mm around the waist and weighs just 138 grams which makes it slim and lightweight. Its Chinese counterpart, the Huawei Honor 6 doesn’t lag behind in display and size. The older brand also has a 5.0-inch full HD display with Corning Glass screen protection and has the same pixel density. In terms of design, it has curved edges and is little thicker (7.5mm) but lighter (130 grams) than OnePlus X.
Configuration and OS
The OnePlus X is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM to deliver a brisk performance while multitasking. The gaming experience is further enhanced by Adreno 330 graphics. The dual SIM phone runs on Android v5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. In comparison, the Honor 6 is a little more powerful than the younger brand, it derives its processes from Hi-silicon Kirin 920 SoCocta-core processor paired with 3GB RAM, while the graphics is taken care by Mali-T628 MP4. However, the OS version is Android v4.4.2 KitKat which can be upgraded to Lollipop.
The OnePlus X comes with a fingerprint sensor which keeps your data more secure, while the Honor 6 lacks this feature.
Camera and Storage
The OnePlus X is stacked with a 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with LED flash to snap high quality pictures with the assistance of ISOCELL technology which betters the lightning and reduces the noise while capturing sharp images. At the front, it is equipped with an impressive 8MP f/2.4 aperture camera which clicks razor sharp images and comes with Beauty Mode feature. To store data, it houses a 16GB of internal memory which can further be expanded up to a massive 128GB via an external microSD card.
As for the Huawei Honor 6, it has the same 13MP primary camera, but with dual LED flash to snap beautiful pictures in low light. The device fails to match its rival as the front camera is only of 5MP. For data storage, it consists of 16GB of internal memory and expandable memory of up to 64GB.
Battery and Connectivity
The OnePlus X sips juice from a 2,525mAh li-polymer battery which is non-removable in nature and provides long hours of talktime on 3G and lets you play music and browse the internet on the go. The smartphone doesn’t lag behind in terms of connectivity either, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and USB connectivity.
The Honor 6 outdoes the former with a more powerful battery. It is backed by a 3,100mAh non-removable battery which lets you work on the device for a longer period. The connectivity options include 4G, Bluetooth 4.0, A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot, USB, OTA sync among others.
The OnePlus X is a little costlier than its rival and hence it has to be a little more powerful. The OnePlus impresses with its overall design and overshadows its competitor with a better front camera and more storage capacity and not to mention the added feature in fingerprint sensor. Having said that, it doesn’t make Honor 6 an ordinary device, it matches the younger rival in terms of display and compact size and stands on his own with a more powerful processor and better battery life. Now, if you are willing to pay more then you should go with OnePlus X, else at a lower budget Honor 6 is an excellent choice.
